thanks Steve :D (nice avatar by the way ;))

i've got these sticks on pre-order, and will have them by friday (hopefully)

i've read that memory settings can differ from cpu to cpu, will these settings work with an X2 chip?

my X2 working at 2.6GHz, so I hope the EB ram can works at 260MHz 3-3-2-8, is it posssible???

Do thoses setting apply on the DFI CF-DR too?

yeah i like steve's ava too she's pretty ;) :p

oh im getting this memory i think lol reminds me i'll message the guy tomorrow about it lol

SteveOCZ

Now you have me excited to try that ram with all the settings. My X2-3800 is super stable at 2700mhz but I need some ram to run at that speed and I want to jump to 2gig so I think you just pushed me over the edge.
If I could get that ram to run at 270mhz with those timings that would be great!
Thanks for posting all of the Bios settings!

Pyro,
HTML:
is there any substance to the issues they mention in this review?
or is it dependant on the individual cpu core, and memory controller?

That was a very interesting review. I seem to have a similar problem with my OCZ Platinium PC3200 rev2.

My X2-3800 runs all day stable Prime95 at 2700mhz as long as I run my memory with the 5/6 divider at 225mhz 2-3-2-5 at 2.9v

The memory will run 270mhz with loose timings ok if I run the CPU at not over 2550mhz. Very Wierd!

I think the memory controller has something to do with this but I'm not sure.

I think I'm going to get a set of the 2gig Platinium PC4000 OCZ and give them a try.

:) my sticks arrived today
i've only had a little fiddle so far...
i can memtest them at 269MHz, but if i try 270, i keep getting errors at the end of test 5

i can boot into windows at 261-265 (cpu multi 10x), but when i get to the desktop my monitor starts flicking on and off  , 260MHz and below is fine

at the moment i'm running at 11x250 and it seems more stable than with my geil memory (crappy hynix)

these are my current settings
my.php

i would've liked to get 265x10, or 270x10 (my temps @2750 peak at 50-52C), but i'm not sure if my memory controller is limiting me

any help would be really appreciated

thanks in advance

has nobody got any ideas what could be causing the monitor to click on and off repeatedly??
if i run dual 32m super pi, and ignore the monitor, then it will pass without any computational error, but obviously the computer is unuseable like this
Steve? any ideas?

Hi Steve, thanks for replying, i really appreciate it,
this has got me going out of my mind with frustration :bang head

i'm running tony's 704-2bta bios
i've tried those settings above, but no go above 260MHz, even with an 8 or 7 multiplier
everything seems fine until i get to the windows desktop, then the monitor goes mad

i also just tried dropping the latencies to 3-3-3-8 2T, without success
while i've been typing this, the screen has clicked off at least 6 times
sometimes it will turn back on straight away, other times it will stay off for roughly 10 seconds
