advice on ddr2 ram best ram for future upgradability???

I was looking into some ddr2 ram for a friend who is building an intel system and he wants something that runs great but won't be obsolete when amd releases its next chipset that supports ddr2, any suggestions. He was thinking some ddr2 800 or is 667 overclocking better?
