400mhz RAM OK with a 333mhz FSB Processor?
I tried to search this, but it seemed to take forever to search, and I don't know if anybody has actually asked a question this dumb before.
I built a system about a year ago, I had about $400 total, (already had case, etc. only bought mobo, processor, ram, video, psu, etc.) and so I ended up with an Athlon XP 2500+, Radeon 9600Pro 128mb, 512 megs of........ ....PC2100 Kreton "value" ram. loading times in ut2004 stretch into the minutes. i turn off my monitor and do something while waiting to hear the music to let me know its done
I am now replacing the ram, and I am wondering if this RAM would be OK: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145450
Would it be a problem that it's 400mhz whereas my cpu's fsb is 333mhz?
Would this be better? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145401 however, its almost as expensive as 2 sticks of 400mhz!!!
Sorry for the stupid question, I've simply never heard whether it was a problem.
EDIT: Incase you need to know, my motherboard is a Shuttle... I believe it's an AN35-N Ultra, it supports CPU's with FSB's of up to 400mhz.
