Unlocking XP

i dont have an XP yet and am farily new to overclocking but i was thinking arent the bridges connecting pins on the chip and if so could you not connect them on the bottem of the chip or even the mother board? i can see it now a one time fix cross the bridges on the MB and never unlock the chip again (not saying it would be easy but maybe possable?)

doesn't work like that unfortunately. they are just on the top of the chip. that's the only way to connect these bridges. someone will eventually come up with a good, easy, non-permanent way to connect these. (i hope it's me!).
