I dont understand this, what is Virtual memory, IF Paging File is the REAL Virtual memory, I always though the Virtual memory set is the one where you set how much HDD space windows can use in addition of the RAM.

I set my Virtual Memory as 350MB min/max.

I have 448 MB RAM.

So where the heck did the 2044 MB "Virtual Memory" come from?

You can better understand this, once you see the picture.

That's kind've misleading. By default Windows 98 gives each individual program 2GB of virtual memory space in which to run. No program I know of (at least that we can get ahold of and use for a benefit) will use this much memory. This virtual memory space is comprised of your actual physical memory and pagefile space.

Since you have made a smaller pagefile than the one Windows recommends for your system, it is reporting only what Windows is telling you your VMM is capable of supporting.
