just looking on at the corsair, came accross these, all thats different is the cache level... whats the difference? its going with a AMD 3000 (32bit) processor by the way

CL refers to CAS Latency. The CL2.5 is slightly faster.
 
I would go with your number two selection. Like rseven said, the CL is lower on that pair, and unless I am going blind or my lack of sleep is catching up to me, I see no other difference between your choices.
 
wow ram is one thing i really know nothing about, i used to use a key on the crucial site but now its gone!

low lower cas is faster ram, cheers
