First off... My computer always lives in the same room as my TV and Stereo with 6.1 Yamaha Dolby and DTS Receiver and Bose speakers...In other words, I don't use my computer for music except when I'm DL'ing MP3s and/or burning them to CD/DVD.
Computer sound for me is somewhere to plug my old Klipsch 4.1 speakers for games...period
When I first got my current nf2 board (A7N8X-DX) I liked the sound quality well enough, and didn't see enough of a 3D-mark difference with or without my TB Santa Cruz so it has been sitting in my spare parts closet (anyone want to buy a hand-held logitech grayscale scanner...it does 256 shades of gray! :D )
Maybe I tested wrong or 3D-Mark '03 didn't use enough voices to make much of a difference. What do you guys think about on-chip audio vs. PCI card as far as performance go? Any benchmarks or comparisons you can point me to?
(btw...this will be going into my new nf4 board (A8N32-SLI) if it comes back from the closet)
