hey all, getting sbc yahoo! dsl on friday (got the install kit tonite), and i was curious if you *have* to install stuff off of the yellow install cd. i try to avoid installing stuff, as i'm sure many others here do :)

nope, Ive had sbc for about 3 yrs now and never have used the install disk, its just full of bs, and it steals your resources

No, you don't have to. If you are getting a router, then connect it to your computer over ethernet, it should be fine without installing anything. If you only get a modem, or connect with usb, then you might need to install drivers.
You don't need to install the customized browser or any of the other stuff off of the cd though. It will probably just cause problems later on.
