Ouch, will hurt a lot of people. Hopefully I won't have to upgrade.

Well the thing is, UT2007 isnt coming out for over a year almost, so ample time for people to get upgraded, trust me, I will at least have a 7800GTX and S939 or sM by then. Hopefully the 8800Ultra :D (I wish)

I only lack the proc requirement - but ill be going X2 soon enough ;), although considering that videos of just a fairly simple tech demo with a 6800ultra shown slow down im not holding hopes that listed high spec would be providing decent framerates, probably just about playable :(

OUCH!!!! That is some fierce requirements.

Guess it is time to start saving up.

Is that processor minimum requirements rated from Intel? What's the AMD minimum?

Chaos_Being
11-03-05, 06:13 PM
dual core support, sweet :) Its nice to see some games that will utilize that.

It's 2007. You have plenty of time before you have to upgrade.

All the other UT games are pretty scalable (UT2K4 looks spectacular @ 2048x1536, 4xAA/8xAF, all details max, on the setup in my sig, but I've also had it run acceptably fast on a P3-600 w/ 256MB PC100 and a TNT2). So, I wouldn't expect too much trouble with this either on what will be considered "older" hardware next year, mine should still hold up okay.

no high details for me oh well :D im still ok for this game

Dang ... times are changing so fast. Usually requirements are like 1.6ghz P4 / 1.2Ghz AMD w/ Nvidia TNT :-p.

Is it me or is valve the only company that is capable or writing well optimised engines anymore?

We've got to take these leaps forward and leave behind some older technology once in a while, otherwise technology will never get any better.

Well looks like I'll be fine till next year :p

But my current GTX is gone and will be getting 512GTX or X1800XT sometimes next year (beginning). Till then I'll be bussy playing Xbox360 and Gears of War

Well, I guess I can save up for 939 now.

I can run it :) no dual core yet though.

Anyone have any idea of the OS requirements? *gasp* what if it requires Vista?

Vrykyl
11-04-05, 11:08 AM
if it requires vista that could be a bad thing, as isnt vista entirely gpu reliant for the gui?

Wrong.

The only thing about this game is that your videocard must render dx9. Of course they aren't going to say that, because officially, the geforce fx line is capable of dx9 when in practice it isn't. As for ATI, you can use all the way back to a 9500np, which came out quite a while ago. Also remember that when this game comes out, well over a year from now, a 9500np will be a pretty irrelevant card as far as gaming goes.

Ouch...lol you sunk my battleship. I guess I wont be using this PRO for UT eh?

ninthebin

im pretty sure once a full screen application is launched any usage of the gpu by vista will cease, I doubt this will require vista either - it wasn't for a while when games started asking for 2000/XP only

Do you think that M2 will be released around the time this is out? I'd really like up upgrade to 939 when M2 comes out because it'll be an assload cheaper hopefully.

Sad but true, but you will be fine with the XL ;)

Yes, M2 will be out before UT2007 so better save your money for that.

or socket F, if the next lot of opterons go like the Sandy cored UP series then that plus the integrated pci-e controller will make any 2X800 XT or 8800 Ultra go like stink.

Im willing to bet that by the time the game goes gold those requirements are dramatically decreased.

Although remember when the minimum requirements were first mentioned for Doom 3 (in like early/mid 2001 I think) and they said it would need an Athlon XP class CPU and a Geforce 3, and everybody scoffed, but guess what, it did. But after all the delays, and by the time it was actually out, pretty much everyone wanting to play it had an Athlon XP class CPU and a Geforce 3 or better.

I can't wait for this game, I'm still addicted to 2004, probably going to build another system for it and Project Offset.
*goes and looks for the demo*

i think to play it with maximum details and effects you would need two GTXs in SLI.

Vrykyl

make that 512mb gtx's in sli ;) god only knows what offest will need!

Sweet! All I have to do is pick up a used 6800 and I'm good for high details and "much better performance" ! Yay dual Xeons!
