What a shocker, M$ is trying to kill opengl to favor directx.

I'm sure this is something that will be taken care of eventually, but when there are more important problems like software compatibility still, microsoft is most likley focusing more on that. Once most of the major problems are taken care of, thats when things like game performance are looked at. Beta 2 isnt even out yet, so dont jump to any conclusions. (current releases of vista ctp's are post-beta1, pre-beta2)

It is not true because the D3D wrapper is unlikely to be that slow and because Vista doesn't prohibit the use of ICDs. Vista offers better OpenGL support than any previous version of Windows, and it's completely mind-boggling that people are complaining about it.

This claim is complete nonsense.
It would be technically straightforward to provide an OpenGL ICD within the full Aeroglass experience without compromising the stability or the security of the operating system

It would not be "technically straightforward". It's also quite possible that it would not be "performant", either. Apple's OpenGL implementation is designed to allow this kind of context-switching, and its performance in many OpenGL applications takes a corresponding performance hit. The hit in Vista would likely be even greater, due to switching not just between OpenGL contexts, but between OpenGL and Direct3D.
