broken ipod shuffle?

i couldn't think of what other forum to post this in.

does anybody here have an ipod shuffle? if so, have you ever had it completely just die on you? mine was playing a song and then i accidentally switched it off and then back to the "shuffle" setting on the power switch. ever since it just blinks the green and orange lights at me when I try to turn it on to do anything.

i've tried just about everything on apple's support website. the ipod updaters on both my PC and ibook just lock up when I insert the ipod into their respective usb ports. as soon as i remove the ipod, the computers start responding again. when i plug it into my PC it shows up as a removable mass storage device but i can't access it, format it, and itunes doesn't acknowledge that it is plugged in.

Two of my previous iShuffle's died the same way. Yes, I am an owner of a poorly constructed iShuffle as well. I am currently on my third one; and if this breaks, I am asking for a refund of my money and buying a mini or regular.

Anyhow, the same things you discussed are the same things that happened to my first two iShuffles; they were dead.

bummer. i guess i'll be making a trip to fry's today to return it and get another.
