View Full Version : freezing terrible screeching from speakers

latey in the games i have been play, especially in BF2. and it ALWAYS freezes in the F.E.A.R. performance test when the barrel explodes. it seems to freeze when explosions go off. also a few days ago it kept not detecting my sound blaster ZS and i had to keep reseating it. any ideas guys?

would the sound card cause the whole computer to halt?
Could be......... I was having similar problems with GTA: San Andreas. It has many problems with audigy cards.

hmm.... i dont think its cpu or ram related cuz i have primed and memtested it, and its still freezing. so im down to mobo or sound card

fixed it, i had a defective RAM stick
Interesting. So how'd you figure out it was your ram if it passed memtest?
