I have to drop out of the major run. I will still be using several machines, but my ability to use the major folders has been cut off :bang head
:-O
Sucks to lose the power dude, but whatever amount you contribute it will be welcomed :D.

Unfortunantly, I am not allowed to go into details.

my guess:
somebody "higher-up" didnt like all the time you spent getting them to FOLD or didnt like how the PC's / network acted/worked while they were FOLDing...and so the "NO FOLDing" hammer came crashing down :(
sorry for your (our) loss of powah...hope you keep going with what you can (still) get your hands on ;)
GOOD LUCK!!

There was no drop in the networks ability, or the ability for the computers to be used, but essentially, yes, somebody higher up didnt like what I had been able to do. It was much more serious then I expected, because the statement of getting the GBI became involved. However, discussions were made, I undid everything I had done
On a side note though, im the new security advisor. hehe.

Probably a good idea.
One trick you could do is flood his desk with origami paper models and storm in shouting "You can't stop me folding!!"

Georgia Bureau of Intimidation?
Also on the bright side, you have folded more than I will in the next 5 months.

Heh, yeah, same deal here.
FWIW, people are concerned about F@H security because the cores are not fully open source, and that Stanford's algorithims and the security that is implemented don't particularly care about secrecy, but rather making sure that data is not tampered with in transit. It seems a little silly for companies to say "BLAH BLAH SECURITY RISK OMGLAH!" but it is somewhat reasonable, I suppose. Silly, but somewhat reasonable.
Well, you got a director of security position as a result. Interesting.

ya, too bad you didnt take $ from them, then they'd have made you... director of the checking account  :p
on the other hand, as "Director of Security" you should (now) have the authority to allow FOLDing on the company PCs ;)
I had the same thing happen to me. I lost a big borg about 1 1/2 ago. It was a military supplier. they got a new contract and it turned into a secure facility so the folding had to go. It was nice while it lasted. still trying to make that up :D
Grats on the job tho!

Sorry to hear that. I was curious as to why your production had dropped so quickly. It'll be awhile before I catch up to you, but it was awesome seeing what you were able to do in a such a short time. Good luck, and congrats on the new job.

Sorry to hear this MD, I was looking forward to seeing you blast past us on page 4. Hope you can find some permissible replacements soon!

midnight will do it. After he showed me the script he used (ingenius by the way)... I can understand why they wanted it off of there... considering HOW the script did what it did, especially after he explained it to me. Again, VERY ingenius, but also a way to get the G.B.I./F.B.I. after you, as what the script does can be considered hacking.
Also, he did have the defense of the guys in charge of the computers told him "If you can get it on there past our lockdowns without us doing it for you, then go ahead." He did it... and I'm sure that's part of why he got that new Security Position! :p
Well Midnight, my radar says that you will pass me in 1 day even at your reduced rate. Of course it's been saying 1 day for several days now, but I really think it will happen today or at least tomorrow since we are only a couple of thousand points apart.
Sorry to hear about your reduced Folding production, but CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW POSITION.

So I guess we'll have to jump back to the 150 borg count down now, lol. Sorry to hear about all the trouble, but it's good to see it all turn out well. Keep on foldin' what ya got, and take a pic if you make any origami for your boss :D.
Haha! He will never catch me and my 7 steady processors now! HAHAHA!
Seriously though, it sucks that this was lost :(
