Now bear with me on this as I am an Intel fan myself.

Couldn't you use like clear nail polish to fill the gaps of death and seal them off. Then you could use the conductive pen or the trace tape again right?

Look at the thermal paste article on the fromt page...
you could use the tape trick to keep the contacts clean while applying the nail polish...

Just a thought...

i'm bearing with you.... and u just thought of what i did... =P and it works great... i used clear nail polish to fill in, and a conductive pen to connect.... thanx to the amd extreme performance tour for my free xp 1.53 (running 1662 12.5x133). i can use multipliers 9.5 - 12.5, i think i hav to redo the last l1 bridge....

wow, im using mine at 142 x 11.5 and runs pretty cool... (for air cooled). if i could get 12 or 12.5 to run, WOW, i could get a fast system.
