i think i had it in the wrong port and i plugged it into the 2nd port from the right and still not getting any sound. anyone help?
I would either try it in a different PCI slot or with different drivers. If you are interested there is a thread on using the Audigy 4 drivers with the Audigy 2 card here in the sound section of the Forum.

i get sound out of the far right port (i think it's the digital one.) but not the one next to it. when i do get sound it is muffled and staticy. could you give me a link for drivers? i think i might have gotten the wrong ones.

do i have to put any jumpers on like i did for my onboard sound?
Here's a link to the drivers.

There are beta ones at the top of the page and regular ones at the bottom. You should not need to worry about jumpers, but you should disable the on-board sound in the bios so there are no conflicts.

i installed them and disabled onboard sound in bios. still no sound. btw which port should i be using for my headphones? the very far one on the right gives static at the one next to it gives nothing. people can hear me talking in ventrilo but i can't hear anything.

There is no designated headphone port. You need to use the speaker output.

which one would that be? the very far right one or the one next to it?

Neither. The audigy 2 has 6 jacks in back. If you are facing the back of your case it will be the third from the left. If you mistakenly put it in the fourth jack that is the microphone input.

omg. i just got it work (thanks to you) and i'm so shocked. i didn't think there would be much improvement over my old headset/onboard. i was so wrong! the sound from everything is so much clearer. (maybe due to the fact that my last headset had no bass or treble settings!!!!!) i would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone or buy another one!
That's terrific! Enjoy the music. I'm glad I could help.
