Thanks all for the welcome... hmmm guess the stuff i entered didn't show up... will fix that one of these days.
Right now i am running 2.0 on my athlon 800@900 (still trying to get all the crap i have plugged into it to work "stabily" before i oc it some more) 512 ram, sblive!5.1, nvidia gts 32mb, 2 40gig raid drives, two reg ide drives, cdrom, cdrw, wireless kybd and mouse through usb(thought this was a good idea but it's not) nic, modem for dial up connection. bunch of fans, ugly self-modded case... think that's bout it<G>

I will also be folding on an athlon 1k, amd-450@550 and possibly a celeron 1k. the amd-450 will be dedicated to folding cept when i'm burning<G>

?'s
1) i have the console version how can i tell how i'm doing?

2) when i install on other machines do i setup a new user?

3) does the console version only run during idle cpu time bec i noticed my cpu usage is constantly at 100% now... must pop in there pretty fast.

5) since 2 of the other computers are not usually used for connecting to the net, when running the folding program how ofter and for how long do u need to connect to the net?

thanks for the answers<G>

1.) goto: http://folding.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/searchstats and looks for your name, or search for it. (takes some time to show up, and updates every 2-3 hours)

2.) yes, but you must use "cowanrg" . (just kidding) no, use your same username... then all your stats will accumulate.

3.) it runs to make cpu equal to 100%. so if you are using 43% of your CPU, folding will run using the remaining 57%.

4.) yes, but only in summer when facing north.

5.) well, how often? this depends on the speed of the computer, and the protein. it can be 20 hours, or 3 hours... just whenever a WU is finished. how long? depends on connection, but usually only like a minute or so. maybe longer if on dialup.

hope that helps.
