I have an Athlon 1.2 GHz T-Bird and I'm trying to OC it but I'm not

sure what I can do. If you don't know the EP-8k7a+ mobo, there

is a dip switch that is used to adjust the multiplier. I noticed

that my L1 and L2 bridges aren't cut, but some of the others are.

Can I reconect them and get the higher multiplier? I can only

over clock it to 1.3 with it the way it is now. can someone help?

Thanks Aragorn

If the lvl 1 bridges on the CPU are connected you should be able to use the dip switches on the motherboard to get up to a 12.5 multiplier. make sure also that you are running at 133mhz FSB.

I have the 8k7a+. I had a duron 950 in it for a couple of weeks. Just as was stated before this post, if the L1's aren't "cut" then you can adjust the multiplier.

OK I got what you guys are saying but I'm running the

multiplier at 12 now to get 1.2 GHz I can take it up to 12.5 which

will get me 1.3 GHz,but that's as high as I can get it. Is there a

way I can lower the multiplier and still get 1.2GHz. This is the first

computer that I have built and I can use any help you guys can

give.

Yeah, if you set the mult to nine and the FSB to 133 you'll get 1.2. If you want to overclock, check out the cooling board so that you can get yourself some good cooling. :)

I've learned loads around here, and one of the best things is that the FSB overclock, is the best overclock. I would lower the multiplier as low as possible, and max the FSB, then find your highest multiplier + FSB speed, and as Thelemac stated:
Definately keep an eye on those temps!
