sorry if everyone already knows about this, but i just discovered for myself, and i thought maybe there would be at least one person that could benefit from this.

https://newegg.eztradein.com/newegg/howitworks.cfm?section=1

i just traded in an OLD computer one of my freinds gave me for free. i got $124.15 out of it. for free. perfect for those crappy components you accumulate over the years.

the prices for used laptops are insanely lowball.

a 1.8ghz Centrino toshiba tablet with 1gb, and 60 gig hard drive is worth 257 for them

-- they dont take into consideration the memory speed, the CPU type (500 series vs 600series intel, FSB video card type other than memory size, hard drive size and a lot of other key factors)

and they pay by gift certificate, THATS a major crock

i just checked out a computer i have
800mhz dell
80gb
cd and cdrw
256mb

came to $30

no trade in value for CRT monitors lol

210 for my 21 inch or larger dell LCD (no consideration for 20.1 or 24inch models

there is no consideration between p4 or centrino as well.... whos running this site ??

Pentium M (Centrino)1.3ghz to 1.8 is worth 283
Pentium 4 1.3 to 1.8 is worth 289 ... I WOULDN'T USE THIS SITE IF I WERE YOU.

it sounds like a rip, but i just made 124 moneys from 0.
i had the firewire card just sitting around from god knows where. the 256Mb video card (geforce 5500) was from the kids brother (who doesn't know much about anything, hence the amount of ram). and 512 of the old pc333 i ripped out of a non functioning rig from the depths of hell. case/psu/256 ram/mobo/proc (2 ghz celeron) all from dell. had it been my friend doing this, yes a huge rip it would be. but since he gave it to me for helping him build a new rig, i benefit greatly.

edit* drives i had lying around.

130$ for for a 2.4ghz dell system with 1gb memory and 60gb hard drive... I could part it out thru the classifieds here and get more money...

Pentium 4M is worth more to them than straight Pentium 4, and Pentium M (centrino} is worth the least, in laptops - The sad part is people are using this rip off site

p4 3.4 ghz is worth 10 bucks more than athlon 64 3.4ghz.............. (it says 3.4ghz, not 3400+)

Looks like the least i can get for anything (without getting no trade in value) is 10.40 for a used g3 imac, looks like the most is 500 for a souped up P4 and intergrated 21inch LCD (if such a thing exists)

I jsut did a couple computers that I have around here. The one in my sig is worth $280.

The two others came up as no trade-in value. I see ones that are lower specced go for over $150 all the time on Ebay.

I've never seen this before, interesting.....
Anyone want to know what they do with the items once they get them?

I did some digging....

They are sent to Dealtree inc. and they inspect them, the items are then sold on Ebay under the name dealtree-techstore and at private bulk lot private auctions. They also sell the companents at their private site: http://www.dealadeal.com/ (all items carry a 7 day 'as described' warranty

Dealtree is the leading provider of auction management, logistics and value added services for Manufacturers, Distributors and Retailers. Dealtree provides a full service, single source solution that efficiently moves goods and information through the reverse supply chain.

I thought it was odd that the newegg part was a subdomain, and not the ezdeals part. You're not dealing with Newegg at all, methinks.

Think of it as a PC pawn shop, they will never give you fair market value. This system is not for most of us here, it's more for the John Q. Public, it's geared for people that doesn't utilize Ebay and such, and have no clue as to how to re-sell their used pc system or equipment.
