I started on my eVGA 6600gt after i noticed frames were dipping in Doom3 way too much. I usually hold off ocing till when I need to upgrade and upgrade when i need a new system all together. hehe. Well anyways, it senses that the default speed is 300mhz by 900mhz. This is awful. It either means that either
-my Rivatuner is retarded for some reason.
-my card has a ****load of extra clocking
I might try coolbits later on see if its any different.
Uhm, I think that's the 2D clocks. Make sure you look at 3D mode, bro. I think you're looking at it incorrectly. I think the card throttles when you're not gaming.

3d mode is 500/1000 and 2d is 300/900 which should be default if your not running a BFG OC
So then he's DEFINITELY looking at it incorrectly.
I'm assuming that you're using Rivatuner, right food? When you get to the window where you can see the clocks look up top. It'll say something about "3D hardware..." blah blah, and also a scroll down menu that you can change to 3D mode clocks. You can't miss it.

rebooted. Now it shows 500mhz but the memory is still only 900. I clocked it to 570 and 1.1. Downloading Aquamark. : / ...... As for 2d, its 470 by 1.1
Why did you OC 2D? You should only OC the 3D, bro... I mean, up to you, but I see no need.
The memory will remain the same for 2D and 3D I think, but the GPU should remain at 300mhz on 2D, and only OC the 3D.
900 mhz is the stock for agp 6600 gt i belive ......... i may be wrong but i think the pci-e is 100 mhz faster.
Oh crap! You're right! I am so sorry. I have owned three 6600GTs, and all of them were PCI-E. Sorry, dude...
ok yah if your agp then the 6600 gt's are supposed to be at those clocks if you pci-e im not sure whats wrong but its most likely people just said you were supposed to have 1000 mhz cuz the pci-e 6600 gt's do.
