Currently, I have an offer of getting the AquaXtreme 50Z-DC12 pump for less than the MPC655. Should I get that one instead or get the MPC655?

Also, should I be getting the BIPII or the MCR220. I'm thinking that the MCR220 works better than the BIPII, but no one can tell for sure.

I know that the storm works best for High-flow pumps while this pump is best for restrictive system. But if I'm going to add a GPU block to the loop then wouldn't it be restrictive? Then this pump would be perfect?

I don't know, I'd need help deciding the kit.......what do you guys think?

Both good pumps... both decent rads... you wont notice any difference really by mixing and matching any of them. All decent choices.

I intalled swiftech mcr220 qp in my antec 180 with swiftech strom, mcp655 and vga block. Temps are good considering that I am running only 55cfm fans. With swifech radiator the system is fairly quiet. I don't know anything about BIP so I can't compare performance and noise but for me dangerden products never worked.

can you post your specs, what clocks you're running and what's the temps on your CPU and GPU?

Thanks a lot :)

I'm thinking of WC my blue rig but don't know if I should or use the Scythe Ninja on it. The Thermalright SLK947U doesn't seem to cut it for high OCs.

I have
Swiftech STorm
Swiftech MCp655
Swfitech MCR 220 QP
Soon Swiftech Resevior
Some Asetek vga waterblock, didn't have enougth time to upgrade that to swiftech yet
3x55fans, these should be changed to evercool

I just put in new cpu into the system so I don't know new temps. I can tell temps for the old one. With 1.65vcore at 2750 it was idling around 30 and load was 43, gpu idles under 40c and stays under 50c under load. Closet temps. Just for comparsion with thermaltake big typhoon the same cpu was around 51-53c

cool, so with the storm and a decent setup, I'm hoping to see my Blue system under 50C load @4ghz. :)

Thanks bro. I'll try the scythe later on and see if I can push it to 4ghz while being under 50C. If not, I'll definitely go for water.

Well Im running the Storm, maze4 GPU block, MCP350 a PA160 Rad with a Nexus silent fan. It is unbelievably quiet. Plus my temps are running 5 above ambient at idle and around 10 deg above at load. My idle temp on the 7800 GTX O/C was idling at 50 deg now it is at 38 and hits mid 40's at load. Also even after going through the two blocks the pump is still churning up in my res. So if ya want cool and quiet this is sure one way to do it.

bigredhog, can you post some pics of your setup? I am thinking of going the same way with many of my components (v2000b, maze4, storm, etc). I would be really interested to see how it all looks together. Thanks!

Well Im running

You too, huh? :D

I think that little MCP350 is an overachiever if there ever was one..."The little pump that could!"

Yeah, in my sys the little pump sure has the water churning around in the res so much that it's probably the loudest part of my system! Sounds like a constant low level water faucet running, LOL.

Only w/o any audible pump noise!

Funny, 'cuz it's flow rates are spec'd substantially lower than its big brother, the 655, but it has a pretty good head pressure spec. Guess it epitomizes the theory that flow numbers mean nothing unless used in conjunction w/head pressure!

Tho, in all fairness, all I'm running is a single 120.1 rad and a single 6000 block.

I'm adding a second rad in parallel, so in theory, my flow resistance should decrease somewhat. It should be interesting seeing how the little 350 reacts to a further decrease in flow resistance.

Oh well...

The only real difference between the 50z and the MCP655 is that the 50z is a little louder (6 dba), has a little less head pressure rating, but dumps less heat than the MCP655. So they basically are a toss-up as to which one to use. I would say go with the cheaper. I have been running a 50z now for about 10 months and haven't had problems at all from it. It performs well especially given that my setup is quite restrictive and has a lot to pump through.

I found the 50Z unbearably loud.

That's one huge mother of a case!

I've got a V1200B and was hoping to run a P160 radiator, but without doing some serious surgery it's not viable.

I ended up ordering a Swiftech APEX kit, and a single 120mm radiator as the dual 120 does me little good in that case, and I have no intentions of using that ugly ass radbox contraption.

LOL I like to think of it as "electronic furniture" plus heaven forbid a burgular ever broke in he'd look at it and go man I aint carrying that thing through the window on the run.

I just got the Asetek Waterchill and it's quieter than my MCP350, but the hoses are 3/8". Either way I'd recommend the Black Ice radiators, especially in blue ;)

fuzzba11 -

I'm not much into to cases, but wow, that blue rad looks awesome, contrasting perfectly with the black case color, and also the case's frontal design.
