well, as for just headphones, a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770's real good. For a mic im not really sure, maybe one of those new logitech ones Look at the bottom two (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/productlistns/US/EN,crid=101,ad=hmf)
again, i dont really know about real good headphone/microphone combos, all i know is that if you get the DT770's, get ready for some extreme bass and positioning.
plantronics audio .90 are the most comfortable headphones and have awesome sound. they don't break very easily though, most people must have either shot them and then ran over them but i have sat on them and they haven't broke.

I've been around tons of people who used to use audio .90's because I travel to numerous lans and Plantronics is the most unreliable headset ever. Everyonce in a while you get a good pair that lasts forever but most of the time they need to be replaced monthly.

I use the Speed-Link Medusa 5.1 Surround Sound Headphones. A lil expensive, but I am very happy with them. Read lots of reviews about them before I finally bought a pair, and the reviews were all true, a very good set. :)

I am using Sennheiser PC150's. They are very comfortable, even after hours of gaming.
I know you cannot use newegg, but here is a picture.

Depending on budget, go with Sennheiser PC150, or PC160's. The 160's are absolutely amazing. The 150's are very nice too. I had a set of 150's before stepping up to the 160's. I was quite suprised at the difference. If you need usb connectivity look to the PC155 or PC165.
Oh yeah. Every set of plantronics I've had have crapped out on me way too soon. I will not buy plantronics anymore.

I have a set of the Zalman 5.1 headphones and mic set. I really like it. Sure it looks quite akward on your head but the sound is nice, if a bit on the tinny side. After a while you get used to it and it just sounds good. Good bass and good directional sound.
I really like my pair although some people claim the 5.1 is just a gimmic. I dont think so.

sennheisers, check the ones reccomended, i dont have any mic ones, but i've got Dj ones (well, they come in the DJ section anyway), and the soud quality is amazing, even after years, i've had them a good 3 years now.
my mate just started music college where he was introduced to sennheisers and he just said 'wow!' from then on he's been after quality rather than volume.
try them....
