I have two sticks of pc2100 ram, CAS latency is set at 2.5 in bios. I can change the settings to 2, or 3. Would it give me any performance gain if I change the settings?
Hopefully someone will reply.
Thanks in advance.

changing to 2 would give you some performance boost but nothing neck-snapping. And it may end up being very unstable.
what does the manufacturer of the ram recommend you keep your cas latency? Unless you plan to overclock your system, id leave it at whatever its supposed to be.

I changed it to 2, and it was very unstable......It would load windows for about 30 seconds then re-start.........I really need to upgrade my memory for this machine. Thanks for the replies.
