ok i finaly can overclock my cpu but just before it loads windows I get a message saying:

While initializing device CONFIGMG:
Windows protection error You need to restart your computer

is there anyway around this i really would like the tiny speed increase of 150 mhz?

If it is with the computer from your signature, I wouldn't think that possible unless you took extreme cooling into consideration. Speed increases are proportional to your processor, such as I have a P1 MMX 233 @ 266, a P3 500 @ 600, a Duron 800 @ 1028, and an Athlon 1.33 @ default. You are just overclocking too much, have not increased the voltage enough, do not have adequate cooling to achieve this, or the chip simply will not do that speed. It is highly likely that the 400 chip will simply not do +150 mhz, which is NOT a small jump.

well 550 is my ultimate goal. this currently im working on is a jump to 450mhz. Its aK6/2 400. I have a WBK38 HSF on it. I tried voltage settings up to 2.8 at which i had one boot but then it failed the next time and i continually get the error messages. I know the K6/2 is horrible for overclocking but I have to try. I need some more speed out of it at least untill i get my new system running at par.
