hey... ive got an athalon 1200 @ 1430. im using the thermalright sk-6 and a delta 38 fan, i noticed that the fan seems to be rattling on the heatsink (just started, had it for a few weeks).... any tips on fixing it....

also, ive been able to overclock it to 1430 stable, the cpu temp is 55-57, which is about 10 degrees lower than it was w/ the stock heatsink/fan (they used garbage thermal tape on the heatsink)... even with the voltage at 1.85 (the highest on the asus a7v i have) i cant get any more out of it... any recommendations to get more.

1200 birdies are not very overclockable
i could only manage to get my one up to 1360 stable (8.5x160) see sig well i can still load windows if i'm running it @ 1.4 but when i run 3DMark2001 it oftens hangs and when i play UT w/songs afta bout 30mins it hangs.

O yea and if u think it'z too loud which most ppl do then just do da 7V mod it is alot quietier!

It the fan is "rattling" then it's no longer in balance for some reason. Maybe a blade is chipped, bearings are bad, or something. For whatever reason, that's not good. I'm not familiar with that model heatsink. Anyway you can mount an 80mm fan on it? I put an 80mm high output Sunon on my GlobalWin FOP that moves more air, is cooler, and lots quieter than my old 60mm Delta 38.

The SK-6 uses the little clips kinda similar to the Global win WBK and FOP series... So it's possible you could modify the existing clips or make your own out of paperclips or something that would hold an 80mm fan on there...
