Has anyone built an open/closed cooling system with an evaporative cooling tower?
It would have a closed water system with pump, waterblock, and radiator. The radiator would sit in the "shower" of the evaporative tower (or bucket).
The evap tower would be an open system with its own pump.

a more effective way would be this
CLOSED LOOP : pump - waterblock - radiatior - water chiller (a couple of water blocks with a pelt in between)
OPEN LOOP : pump - water chiller (cools hot side) - evaportator tower.
the radiator in the evaporator would not work too well i dont think

dont have a closed evaportor tower system, think of the moisture, you wioll get mold growing on you cpu (and other problems)

It sounds like a reasonable idea, to me.
As a PS...a closed evaporator system is a contradiction in terms...unless one used a condenser, and heat exchanger, too...hmmm...I think that's called a refrigeration system...

i'm working on one right now.....
almost ready to do some testing.....
just need some free time.
If it works, i'll let you all know.
