update
1) cut holes for handles and mounted them
2) cut speaker terminal hole and mounted it
3) had to remove carpet to put those holes in :(
4) sealed some more leaks with liquid nails

i am now waiting for the 4" mids to arrive on wednesday. last night i set it up as a 2 way and i was very impressed with the tweeter. Clarity was very good on the tweeter. The 12" however, does not meet my standards for a 2 way system. The clarity just was not there. Fortunately...i have the 4" Vifa woofers for midrange. hopefully the 12" will sound a little better when its crossed over at 800hz as opposed to 5k

*edit*
forgot to mention the volume. at volume 30 on my receiver (onkyo 502b), which normally yields 80dB using typical bookshelf speakers, I got output that enabled me to hear the words of songs from within the house. (i work on my projects outside)

I know what your thinking. not hard to hear speakers through walls. that point is given, but usually you cant hear the vocals. with this i could. when the 4" drivers come in ill do some 120+ dB testing (projected)

project completed

4" - 8
12 - 2
1" - 2
crossover - 8
l-pads - 8
15" - 2
terminals - 4

solder joints :) took me a good while yesterday to get all of them done. Then got all of the drivers mounted. I'd say it took me a good 3 1/2 hours to finish everything + cleanup.

-onto the interesting part. after screwing the drivers down it got MUCH louder. I did some high volume testing at 11PM and was called by somone 4 houses down several minutes later and told to please turn the music down. success!! The output is still clean more than 60 feet away. I've got to pick up a 9v batttery today to use my dB meter on it.

yes, i just need to clear up some space on my web account. I took pictures at each stage of the process. From concept to mounting the drivers.

One thing i'd like some advice on is how to improve the midrange SPL relative to the other drivers. I have to throttle the 12" and tweeter a fair amount to make the 4" drivers audible. Granted even after the throttling the SPL is still pretty high. But right now i have wasted headroom on the tweeter and 12" driver.
