Would i notice a difference using the X-FI and these speakers?

I've been looking at the creative X-FI cards and i'm wondering if i'd notice much of a difference in sound for gaming, and music.
Right now i'm using a SB Live! 5.1 (non 24 bit), but with the KX drivers. I'm also using the 5.1 Altec Lansing 251 speakers.
If i picked up an X-FI would these speakers show a quality difference?

From what i've read i guess the difference between the X-FI models is just the extra ram and controller/io panel. So the Xtrememusic would provide essentially the same performance in gaming compared to the Platinum?

yeah, no need, unless you are seriously going to upgrade the speakers to something very top of the range, then definite no!
