XP Giveaway at Minneapolis

Despite some initial confusion early, I finally found my way to the correct parking lot at the Mall of America just in time to register. The weather was cool and breezy. I'd estimate the crowd at around 500 people. They called the number 1 less than mine. That was as close as I got to happiness. Average age of the crowd looked to be around 20. Lot of school age people. As you might expect, about 1 woman to every 100 men. Managed to make it to work on time. That's it from the Twin Cities.

It turned out pretty well...there were far more people there than I expected! I'm posting from work..came here right when that finished. Couple people I went there with from school won Mobo/CPU combos, but not I. Hey...can't beat free..

It was a bit chilly, though.

I did manage to catch a t-shirt from one the 2 hot chicks throwing them out, would have traded it on for 2 digits less on a number they called.

They missed my number by 10 digits about 6 times... oh well. It was fun, the dance contest was funny, the jokes were horrible!

FYI: they had 50 cpu/mobo's and 1 complete system.

I got a t-shirt. My buddy won a box with the MSI mobo and a CPU. Looks great, we just need some more money to build the rest of the system!

It was cold, and I got up at 3:30. Too bad I didn't get anything. I almost got a t shirt though.

It was too bad that they were giving away only 50. I thought that at some earlier give-aways they had 200.

Anyway, so it goes.

My friend is super happy. We just went to get an upgraded psu and a new HD for his new XP system! He is upgrading from a Duron 800, that isn't even that old.

I'm off to find a screwdriver and get busy!

i saw one hit a guy in the face and knock off his glasses... kinda funny, and this other dood picked up the shirt...

How about planning an OC.com Minneapolis get-together? I'm not in the area right now but I will be in December-ish after school is over. I'd be willing to help organize. The question is, should we just have a little party or should we make it a LAN bash as well? I'd be all for just having a get together and ordering up a bunch of food/liquor... maybe downtown somewhere? at a hotel? or should we hold this in somewhere like St Cloud to make it accessible to outstaters?

I got their with about 7 mins left to hand tickets out, I was in the wrong parking lot at first. We were all crowded around the Janes Adiction touring bus thinking it was AMD:p I didn't get anything, but my brothers friend got a cpu combo

while everyone's at it; is there any one in the silicon valley area? I know there's gotta be at least a few people. I might be able to go to the give away in silicon valley maybe i can see you there or something......... just a thouht
