Can a KVM fry a motherboard?

Hi there,

Well this is the second time this has happened:

I have a Belkin Omniview E Series 4 port KVM switch hooked up to two computers.

The MB that died is an ASUS P4T533. This is the second time it has died.

After the first time, I purchased a used replacement off of eBay and sent my original MB back to ASUS and they sent me a refurb board which I haven't installed yet.

I also installed a new power supply just in case.

I also used the P4 2.5 CPU that came with the eBay MB just in case.

Now, the board I purchased off of eBay did EXACTLY the same thing. It's been about 3 months since I installed the new MB.

I'll switch over to my #1 computer, and the screen is frozen. No CTRL-ALT-DEL, no nothing.

Turn it off for a while, attempt a reboot, no post.

CPU fan spins up, HDs spin up. No post beep. Nothing.

NOTE: While I was on my #2 computer, I heard a beep from something, and didn't think anything of it until I attempted to go back to my computer.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jim

I am doubtful that a kvm could cause this ... but I am not a hardware engineer.

I would think that if the kvm was the problem, it would happen right away, not after several months.
