Yes, there is new drivers. Namely 14.62.
You can download them from Asus website (http://www.asus.com.tw)
I installed them yesterday and noticed substantial performance drop from nVidia 21.81 (no surprise). I think that picture quality is better with them. About stability I don't know yet.

You can actually use Asus Smart Doctor with nVidia drivers also. Other programs maybe not.

You mean you installed the nvidia drivers and they were better, instead of the asus drivers? When you had the nvidia drivers on did you stil have the extra utilities like asus probe and what not? And one more question aren't the 21.81 nvidia drivers for windows XP???

Asus probe is not display card but motherboard monitoring program to my knowledge - it doesn't matter for it which display card you have.

You can use Smart Doctor which is display card monitoring program with nVidia drivers as I already mentioned. I also mentioned that about other programs/extra utilies I don't know. You can possibly utilize video in/video out if correct wdm drivers are installed and still use nVidia drivers for display card. How to do this I'm not sure because I have not tested. My brother just installed nVidia 21.81 drivers without uninstalling asus drivers first. It seemed to work but I can't recommend it because I haven't tried it and it is possible that you end up having a bad mess.

The drivers Asus publishes are actually made by nVidia. Asus has just added some features to those. Even the driver version numbering is same. As you see Asus is far behing nVidia what comes to publishing dates (14.62 vs. 21.8x). nVidia has done lots of work to develop better and better drivers and the work progress can be seen with different versions. There is variations in quality - stability, picture quality or speed can be different in different sets. There is also differences which drivers are good for a certain system. It is best to try and find out which of them seem to give best result.

21.81 drivers give me almost 1000 points more in 3D Mark 2001 with default settings than Asus 14.62. That is a huge difference.

21.81 drivers are available for other windows versions too. Drivers are called xp which can cause some confusion. You can use AMD XP processors with other operating systems than Windows XP also ;)
