I have gotten the Compaq Presario 5030 (300mhz original)
to 367.93mhz and FSB : 95.3 MHz PCI : 31.8 MHz the multiplayer is on 4.5 witch is original. I think this is the best I can run on the Compaq board.
It isn't built for more than 333 mhz and I didn't use any tape
so do anyone have a clue if it can go faster ......
It Is weary stable !!!!!!

compaq, lol...
maybe you can try and throw it out of the window and see how fast it smashes into the ground :)
wow you actually managed to oc a cpu on a compaq board?
could you tell me how you did that in the first place cause i have a cellie 500 (which i know for sure will run @75fsb) but the damn compaq bios wont let me change anything :( (no luck with any software oc either, cause they fail to detect the mobo)
For compaq mobo you wont most likely be able to change it in the bios , it'll be have to changed with the jumpers I believe... I believe Kiwi is changing his speeds with the jumpers..
Well branded computer are notorious for their bad overclocking but then again you can always replace it..

Hey! Don't be messing with Compaq. They are my hommes. Every time I fry something they are always there for me. Like the time I fried the cd-rom, hard drive, motherboard, hard drive, hard drive one more time, and currently working on the processer. Oh yeah a modem in that mess somewhere too...hehehehe.

It's really a great prob to work with that Mobo's,
I'm in trouble with a Compaq DeskPro (i440BX) of a friend, no OC ways and doesn't like Coppermine Cellie's, max a Celeron 500Mhz or a nice P/// slot1 E series, but the last ones are only for the lucky US guys, not available in EU :( thanks Intel!
Another funny thing is about the Agp slot where you can install only some perticular vid card, coz all the others touch on the second serial port integrated on the crappest Mobo ever seen and doesn't fit properly on the slot, so you can go only with a Pci Vid card, this is great!!!

Oh yes,
only a small dip switch to set the Fsb on 66 or 100 and a max multip of 6x, but the strange thing is that a Cellie 500Mhz (7.5x66Mhz) works, how is it possible?! is it a miracle? :D

Forget about what the BIOS says when your CPU has a locked multi. The CPU overrides it.

No, I'm not joking,
no settings into Bios, only a dipswitch to set Fsb & multip for Cellie from 233 to 400Mhz and P/// from 350 to 600Mhz?!

On intels dont pay attention to the mult. Intel locks them and the mult is on the CPU so the MB has no affect... unless you have a nifty unlocked CPU.

So, if the Mobo, doesn't supports the multip of the chip, it works the same and fine? and totally different is with new series with updated micro code like the Coppermine?
