i am getting a a Fsp bluestorm 350 watt psu for my codegen case (which is actually pretty sturdy, not a bad case for the money) but the main use of this computer is e mail, dvd burning, etc.. so its on all the time, its not too loud but the loudest part of the case is the stock psu so i was just wondering if anyone knows if the fsp bluestrom will be a quiet psu??

I have the 500 and it is plenty quiet. By the way, why not just get the 500 watt? It is only a few bucks more and is much more future proof. They both come with the noise buster fans in them if I remember correctly.

I've got the fsp blue storm 500. It's damn cheap, very quiet, a sexy shade of blue, and it does exactly what it says on the box. Best budget PSU you can buy :).

It will definately be an improvement over the stock psu. The fan in my ax500 puts out less noise than my Sanyo Denki 120's at 5v.

I agree, it's amazingly quiet, and I am anal about keeping my computer's volume to a minimum. As it is now, my hard drive clicking is the loudest thing in my system.

"In a wider comparison with power supplies from other acoustics-focused manufacturers, the Blue Storm fares less well. There are units with quieter fans and fan controllers that output less voltage to a higher power output level, although few of them will beat the Blue Storm in efficiency. Kudos to Fortron for using a sleeve-bearing fan instead of a ball-bearing model, which would have been noiser. Still, this sleeve bearing fan was not really quiet enough to push the Blue Storm into the top ranks of quiet PSUs."
