I have 2 pc's and they both have WIN ME installed.
I have 1 internet account.
Is there a way to connect those pc's....and how?
Can i use the internet at the same time on both pc's?
Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Sure... the quick and dirty method is to install a second NIC in computer 1 (the one with internet access). Use a crossover cable to connect it to the NIC in computer 2. Make sure the two computers can see each other in Network Neighborhood. Then install Internet Connection Sharing on the first computer and it walks you through the steps to set up the second. It will take about 10 minutes all together. Note: computer 1 has to be running for computer 2 to have access.

The more elegant (and expensive) method is to buy a router. The router provides the Network Address Translation (like ICS). With this method you can access from either computer without the other being on.

Hope this helps...

/\ is correct

Are you on dialup, cable or dsl?

I would go with the router setup if you can- they are not too much money, give better performance and more flexibilty, but I don't know if there are any inexpensive dialup units available: most are for cable OR dsl.

I'm going to change my ISDN into DSL in a few days.
*)Check this....somebody told me i can do the connection just
with one cable connecting the 2 com1 ports....is it true?

While you can connect the two computers via a com port, you'll be limited both by the speed of the Serial port interface (115.2Kbit/second) and the fact that I'm not sure Internet Connection Sharing supports sharing over com ports. The easiest way to do it is to just purchase a DSL/Cable Router, they're about $100US, though you can find them on sale/special for as low as $50US after rebates and such.
