View Full Version : Do these scores seem normal?

I have a 32MB PCI Radeon card hooked to my 533MHz Celeron with 256MB Ram and these are the approx 3DMark scores I get:

2000: 3400
2001: 1100

I realise this computer isn't the fastest, but these scores seem really low too me!

It isn't too important as the computer is mainly for using as an MP3 player and Mame emulator for my home theater, but it does worry me a bit.

Is there any way to get more out of this card? I tried O/Cing a bit using Powerstrip, but it just became unstable and wouldn't even run a 3DMark benchmark. I am also using the most current drivers, 7199 I think?

If there is nothing I can do I guess $40 for a 32MB card with a TV out wasn't such a bad deal anyway:)

Looks like the 2000 score might be about average and the 2001 score below average. Those older vid cards just don't do well at 3Dmark2001 though.

Thanks:)

I am familiar with tweaks for my Geforce card, but how about for these ATI Radeons? Is the 7199 driver I have the newest or is there a newer/better one out now?

When I bought this card last month BestBuy was selling these Radeons for $120 new, but I happened to find one for $70 as an "open box" item with a $30 rebate so I am not too disappointed.

I guess it is worth $40, which is more than I can say about the 533MHz Celeron E-Machine computer it is in:)
