Just got the OEM from newegg.com today.
It has the hynix 3.6ns ram just like the retail one on [H]ard|OCP. BUT Powerstrip says it's at 250/250.
So if it has the 275MHz RAM, why is it at 250?
I know I can o/c it, but why didn't it just come at 275?
Keep or RMA??
thanks

All current OEM 8500s are clocked at 250/250. Sorry, just another something ATi neglected to mention before official launch...........

I know the OEM's are clocked to 250, but mine has the hynix 3.6ns RAM on it, which is supposed to be 275.
It's also made in China, not Taiwan like the 250's are supposed to be.
I just wonder if anyone knows why my 275 RAM is clocked at 250, and should I be suspicious?

just overclock it to 275 then and see if it works....if tis the same ram its just clocked lower, download radeon tweaker or powerstrip and tkae the clock up to 275.....

The OEMs are all (so far) the same as yours. They are clocked to 250 because they (most of them anyway) cannot reach the retail speed of 275 reliably, i.e. they are using lower quality RAM.

probably...i saw an article about a dell gf3 running worse than a gf2, and they put the gf3 in many different computers. it just sucked. so i am assuming the radeon is oem also.

but the 7500 is sper sweet for $127 US approx, 8500 will come down in price and be similar to what you can buy in the States

God, I am sooooooooooooooo glad I didnt get a cheezy ATI product.
ATI Radeon 8500=no good drivers(nothing new here),not shipping spec items as advertised(again, nothing new here)and once again, a ton of media hype over a sub par working card at best, that supposedly specs out better on paper over a Nvidia card(and once again, nothing new here).
So glad I spent the extra $100 on my Geforce Ti500!Great drivers, easy to overclock with stability, does what is advertized to do.
When will ATI learn???
Feel sorry for all you people who were stupid enough to get the "Radeon". Im sure in about 8-9 months it will work great!:D
