hey there
just finished building my first AMD box a couple days ago. specs are as follows...
4400 X2 currently oc'd to 2400
crucial ballistix 503 2 x 1 gig
asus A8N-E mobo 1008 bios
Ati x1800xt vid card running cat 5.11
74 gig raptor - op system
36 gig raptor game drive
i have been trying to oc this card but without a ton of success. i first used the utility that came with the catalyst center, and it basically oc's it to the max it couls go (700/800). 3dmark05 crashes at various time throughout the test.
stock I got 8890 on 3dmark05. i should be able to get better, and i have seen people oc there xt's to 730/890 and score in the 10k's. i have also tried to use some of the xty oc'ing tools from driverheaven, but they seem to cause a crash even faster.
fwiw, i am still on air at the moment, and plan to upgrade the stock cooler (which sounds like a hair dryer atr time) for a better aftermarket cooler, or even possibly h20 soon.
anyone else try to oc there 1800xt yet??? and if so, how much and what tools are you using?
thanks for any and all help
josh
