"1 unread message" Windows XP

If have a friend that keeps getting a "1 unread messsage" at the logon screen for windows xp home edition. Is there a way to remove that? I am using the professional version but have not had that problem.

it must be something related to Outlook Express... did your friend set-up an email account on OE? there might be options to turn off the pop-up message for unread messages....

I got that same message when I was using it with msn messenger.

which would relate to his emails account also so I suggest he clears out his emails and see if he still gets it.:)

I wouldn't be surprised if XP sets up a .net account automatically...and since messenger starts automatically..your friend is probably seeing the "thanks for using msn messenger" message...
