First we wait forever for x1800 and now that its FINALLLY here they are going to make is wait for the crossfire edition. Come on ATI lets go already.

We knew it wasn't going to be released on launch. It was going to be a few months after the main release so whats with all the hating?

I asked myself the same question every day that I stall from buying the DFI Expert. Looks like I'm giving in...
to be honest ati have dropped the ball on this one - sure xfire looks great...but seeing as the x1800 is supposed to be a gtx 256 beater youd have thought theyd have extracted a finger to get master cards out....as its no good offering a single card solution in a dual card market.... tis a shame xfire doesnt currently work with 2 regular cards - thats one thing in nvidias favour...
Yeah, and I was excited for xfire too with my GTO˛. It woulda been hot if you didn't need a mastercard, as I have more than one GTO˛.
Heck, when will the prices of a single X1800XT drop to below MSRP? I want one, but I ain't paying almost $600.

Who knows. At the rate things are going now I wouldn't be surprised to see Nvidia work something out with intel so we can have SLI on the 975 chipset. I've been desperate for a good dual graphics solution on Intel chipset for awhile now. I thought if I just hang tough for awhile then all would be good once Intels 975 hit the market. Now here we are a year later and Nvidia is acting like a bunch of greedy jerks about letting SLI work on Intel chipsets, and ATI has all the answers just as soon as they get around to it the day after never. So if I sound like I'm hating just a little bit then its because I am. ATI has their R&D taken care of. They have everything they need to hook us up with some good crossfire action, which is already long overdue. ATI is just dragging their feet for some reason.
OH and ya I'm not even talking about the price gouging. Honestly if a third company came in right now and slit both ATI and Nvidias throat. I'm not sure if I'd feel sorry for them. Hey maybe if we are lucky then Xbox360 will put the crunch on the high end graphics market and bring prices down a little LOL. Just wishful thinking.

Anyhow, it is said that the master cards are supposed to be released sometime in December, but nobody knows if ATI will actually 'stick to the gameplan' after so many delays. Personally, I would not expect these to be found in acceptable supplies until the first of the year; however, feel free to take my advice with a grain of salt.

I did not personally attack him or anyone else in anyway.
I simply called it like I saw it - he was quick to raise his brow to hyperasus for asking a simple and relevant question.
If you feel that there was hostility in my post, please feel free to point it out to me.
Anyhow, I think that I addressed the original question, so there is no need for me to delve deeper on this topic.

Yes, the x1800XT does in fact support Crossfire; however, the whole purpose of the thread is that the x1800x Crossfire Master Cards are still nowhere to be found.
