Dsl connection problem with compaq SR1303WM

I would like to know i have a compaq presario SR1303WM desktop pc have VIA Rhine II Fast Ethernet Adapter drivers provided by windows xp sp2 and I would like to know if anyone has some drivers that work with this pc.I dont have original compaq disk may have lost it after i moved recently. I went to hp.com and looked through the original drivers that were provided by hp site for that system, tried reinstalling the drivers using the hp site drivers and the problem still persist the computer just wont connect to dsl line. Under device manager it claims that the device is working properly and but it seems like it inst because it just wont connect get error 678:the remote equipment coudnt be reached. Thanks for replies

1st network yes or no
2nd all lights green on dsl modem and networkcard and router
3rd you just moved and do you need to resgister your mac address again

Try those first and see what happens.
