Ok, I don't know crap about digital cameras and I really don't want to spend the rest of the day researching. But my parents want one so I said I'd try to find a good deal for one on black friday. Here is a list of them all

Does anyone that knows about digital cameras see some good ones? Or has any recommendations? There are a lot of different brands and models. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Stick with Canon.
I just had my father go onto CC's site and buy himself a Powershot A610. 5 megapixels, 4x optical zoom, 2" flip out LCD. Canons have good lenses, and tend to be more durable than most other companies. They've been running the 10% off online promo all week, so he got it for $270. Sweet camera for that price.
None of the BF sales really impress me. Mostly Kodaks, which are pretty far down the ladder as far as companies go. Cheap price for a cheap camera. Display models were always breaking.
HP cameras are junk. End of story. If someone tries to tell you otherwise, hit them. Hard. They deserved it.
Fuji & Olympus: been getting cheaper in the last year. Better than a Kodak, but not by much. And the XD memory cards they use are even more expensive than the Sony Memory Sticks.
I've never felt Sony cameras were worth the price. The cameras aren't bad, but for the same money, I'll choose Canon quality and durability over a small plastic Sony logo any day.
Nikon... such a shame. Two years ago, they were right beside Canon. But they started slipping with their standards(for the "consumer" models), and I'd put them down with Sony now. Specifically, the shutter speeds started getting laggy.

If you don't know crap about digital cameras, the Rebel probably wouldn't be a wise choice given its size and "prosumer" feature set.
We've loved the canons we've had - the Elph series is very compact and produces some nice pictures. If you're not going to be blowing up prints much larger you're standard 4x6 photos and maybe an 8x10 here and there, the SD300 is a good choice for a slim, stylish camera. The A-series (named because they run off AA batteries instead of the Lithium Ions ones a lot of cameras use) is a bit bigger but a great bang for the buck with the A510.
We've got the SD450, which is the model that Canon has replaced the SD400 with. It's basically the same, but has a few nicer features like a 2.5" LCD instead of a 2.0" one. It's a little noisier (or "grainier") than the SD300 is, though, as it crams more megapixels onto the same size sensor. So if you don't need to blow up photos bigger than 8x10, I'd go for the SD300 myself.
Lots of great cameras that can be found, but I've really enjoyed my experience with Canon's line.

thanks guys.
I was also thinking of acquiring a digital camera.
Seeing the prices, I am discouraged.
