my graphics card stopped working!
i took tghe heatsink off to install a blue orb and it just makes pink lines down da middle of da screen when its on!!!!!!
i had the same wif 1 before.
but was it a bit faulty cause i only got 900!!! points in 3dmark 2001 and whilst running it everything was multicoloured! probelem is i got it off of a computer faIR without a receipt! (i was workin their) now the guys mate has moved? can hercules help out? its a 64mb 3dprophet 2 mx.
the thing is im getting a 2000+ athlon xp and board wif 768mb 2700 ram + win xp 4 me birthday but if this mucks up it all goes!

Sounds to me like you broke it.

RMA is going to be a miracle since modding it in any way voids your warranty. Could try telling them it just "popped off". If it was glued on, that is.

hmmm....i read a review in which a guy put a blorb on his mobo and it crashed, try lapping the blorob and putting it back on.....

The same happened with mine.. I recently bought new ASII and then added it and next thing ya know the card starts screwing up and it breaks.. I'm waitin for my new one... *Waranty is still good*

OMG!!

i slapped a blorb on my leadtek GTS/pro 64mb a few months ago... and used reg. standard silicone grease.

well later on i took it off to put on artic silver II, and my temps actually got a bit higher, but it was ok, i thought... and i just left the ASII on.

and just last saturday, WHILE IDLING, i went to get a drink, came back in to play some Q3.. and theres these funky pink lines everywhere.. i restart and it gives me more lines when it enters win2k bootup screen.. and when it normally enters desktop.. it just flipped to a black screen.. so i had to enter VGA mode.. with vertical lines!!

i sent it back, and its been about a week... i called wednesday to confirm the status.. and they said they would ship it back thursday. now i have to wait until monday or tuesday... and right now im on my old doodoo5 PCI.. and i cant get the drivers to work!! im stuck in 16colors!!! i think voodoo5's have issues with AMD processors...

thanks for posting this, i thought i was the only one with a pinked-out card. i ruled it down to either my AGP port or my card... and reading this gives me more reason to think it was just my card.


BTW - my card freaked out later on after i put the ASII.. it turns out the blorb wasnt even touching my GPU when i took it off to inspect the core after the pink lines showed.. mighty stupid of me not to check that before i put it back in before.
