Have a MSI 6600gt and when i got it i loaded the MSI disk that came with the card to play around a little before i loaded a good nvidia driver.

well since i loaded 81.85's ive had nothing but problems i used dcpro and it took a dll file from the msi clocking utility. i think it may be causing me to have dx problems.

Anyone else out there with an MSI card that loaded this utility that would have any odea how to get rid of it.

Thanks

since i like talking to my self so much, and maybe someday someone else will have this problem and will do a search and find my uber thread where i talk to myself and fix my own problems but here it goes...

Apparently MSI has decided to make thier own modded drivers based on Nvdias driver. Looking around on the MSI website I noticed they have some funky driver listings on there. Being the trooper I am I decided to try them out.

First batch I got didnt want to install they told me no MSI vga card found...WOW! maybe that was my problem i didnt have a VGA card ??

I soon thought to myself and realized i had put a VGA card in my machine so i tried another driver set. TADA it worked!!

MSI has decided to take it upon themselves to add a little utility to Nvdia drivers called D.O.T (dynamic overclocking technology). If you install this utility and then try to update your drivers with basic Nvidia drivers it messes things all up, WMP wont play .dll files go MIA, graphic tearing, and your wife stops cooking you dinner.

hope this helps someone!
