Folding Pals,

In looking at the v2 stats, OC.au is right with us and possibly closing (as Ploaf pointed out).

So, I took a look at the v1 stats. Guess how many WUs we produced there today...

http://users.sgi.net/~eckenrod/Stillonv1Total.bmp

Now, here is a list from there of the people that are still producing.

http://users.sgi.net/~eckenrod/Stillonv1.bmp

and more

http://users.sgi.net/~eckenrod/Stillonv12.bmp

I know some of these people, like Ichan, know they need to move and have not been able to for logistical reasons or otherwise. But, if anyone has contact with others on this list, please let them know they need to move to v2.

Otherwise, we could have a shorter run at the top than Hansen...LOL

****EDIT****
This is in NO WAY meant as a flame or anything like that to anyone on v1. I just want to get the word out to everyone who may not know.

I have one box to move over... the 1 GHz P3 that belongs to a female friend of mine. I will be going over to her room tonight to migrate it, as well as setting up another folder (my friend Jamie's box).

All this extra effort is great. I'll have to see if I can talk a few people into lettting me 'fix' their systems. ;)

I emailed SpeeDj, Nutndun, Shadow, Scorpion12. I sent MadCapr an email the other day, he has been switching them for the last couple of days. I will try somemore later.

SpeeDj has been having some troubles lately that prevent him from doing much on his computers.... so let's go easy on him. :)

NP. Like I said in the original post, this isn't meant to 'call out' anyone or flame anyone, just as a heads up so people can get in touch with those on the list to make the move.

Whenever J gets moved is cool. He knows about it now and that's all we can do.

Fold On Everyone...:)

Thanks for understanding guys, about all I can do on em, is play some games. I am seriously missing having a net connection. I got one of my buddie's switched over and will soon have another switched over. I installed it on my girlfriends laptop too, so every little bit helps. Once I have a net connect I will be up to my norm of Four processes, hopefully I can get that Celly 800 up soon too as well as maybe a few others. I will see what I can do I will try. I also have a ton of Seti unit's waiting to go back thank god for Caching. Soon guys, soon... I will do what I can.

Whoa! too darn close! I'm going to throw 1 more system together, hopefully by the end of next week. It'll be a Duron 750@whatever I can get out of it. There's a guy on eBay selling mboards w/integrated video + 750 Duron + cheapo fan for $99, and he's got lots of them. For that price I'm willing to try it as a dedicated folder. I think I've got everything else I need so this will be a cheap one! Check it out here AMD 750MHz+Mainboard (http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?MfcISAPICommand=GetResult&ht=1&ebaytag1=ebayreg&query=AMD+750MHz%2BMainboard&query2=AMD+750MHz%2BMainboard&search_option=1&exclude=&category0=&minPrice=&maxPrice=&ebaytag1code=0&st=2&SortProperty=MetaEndSort) if interested. Fold on!

That looks like a pretty good deal !

I recall people a while back saying they had folding machines on pieces of plywood. That could be a good way to put those cheapies to use.

Would it be possible to buy a big PSU, say 400W and splice additional mobo connector(s) to it to power several folding slave machines that have minimal other stuff(1 HDD + NIC) ?

How many could you put on one good PSU if you didi not overclock them ?

Just a thought...

Keep it up guys / gals (are there gals here ?)

:D

... but only in the very far corner of the basement ;) They make a lot of noise without a box to shut them up, but they stay cooool. I also ended up running a grounding wire because I was getting electrocuted while messing with it.
Those boards would hang nicely on a 4x8 sheet :)

Really. That's what we've been missing here. ;)

I've got one of my rigs, the 850@952 folding merrily in a motherboard box! Didn't have an ATX case handy and this old AT case was available for power... :D

That poor PC...;)

It's half naked.

Are you sure you can post that here ? There could be young children around here that have never seen a computer like that...LOL

Naked, eh? Well, I guess it's a "stripped down" model.

I have gotten my sister in law to get folding going at there school just two boxes after I told her it takes almost no bandwidth she said she might be able to get more. I told her team 32 ;) And they would help us compete with that Aus school they have 75 systems let hope she can get them to do it. Its two more systems at lest.
