Here's the deal:

My computer in residence is behind a firewall.
When I go home (real home, not residence), I have no way to access my computer.

I am looking for something like VPN, but win98 doesn't support VPN server.

Home computer:
Windows98
Cable modem
Not HCL Compliant (no win2k, no NT)
--I'm trying not to change the operating system on it, my family likes it the way it is.

Rez computer:
Win2k
200Mbps, Firewalled
--Can't map ports, etc.
--Can't be VPN server b/c no access to it

I'm looking for a VPN or Tunnelling solution, or possibly software to provide a tunnel or file sharing privately. I am also looking to use VNC to connect into it, if possible.

Any help would be apreciated.

bump.

Any ideas, anyone? The problem is mainly the Residence firewall, which I can't get a port mapped to me for.

I've tried OnSystem's Tijit, with minimal success (it crashes).

I've not tried it but, how about using pc-anywhere.

PC Anywhere requires a direct connection to the destination computer.

Update> I've tried HTTPTunnel by http://www.totalrc.com with no luck, it does what I want it to do, it just lags out any computer I install it on.

Within a month, I will have access to a server computer capable of running a VPN server...

I believe that you need 2 computers to set up a VPN w/ Win2k, but I'm not 100% sure.
