Right now i've got a CoolerMast heatsink/fan for my cpu and a 80/80mm fan on the back of my case. I'm looking to put an intake fan on the front of it. The problem is my case has a bunch of holes on the sides, would they screw up the airflow i'm trying to create?

possibly. my case has those, so i just put duct tape over them on the insides... you cant tell by looking at it from oustide, but air isnt going where it shouldnt be.

you can buy this stuff called dynamite it has a sticky backing and it will seal every thing off as well as keep the noise level down.(which is its real purpose)

but would not closing the holes prevent good airflow?

If there was good airflow from the front of the case to the back of the case it should help. This will help stop cold air from going out the sides before it has chance to cool you cpu etc.

Try blocking the holes with some tape and seeing if your temps change is the best thing to do. :D
