I suggest the GSkill ZX. They were on sale at Newegg this past week.

Well if you want good performance and not pay to much then you can't go wrong with Samsung UCCC which you can either find on G-Skill's HZ or Mushkin eXtreme Performance both of which are binned as PC4000/DDR500.

No need for harsh comment and if you want to express one take it up with one of the Mushkin representatives that you can find here on the forums.

And keep in mind that not all errors are RAM oriented and there are other obvious things to factor in.

Yeah, I looked at both of those...got ansy, and picked up a 2x1GB set of PDP 3200 cl2's from Fry's. We'll see how they hold up ;)

Installing windows is fun, especially when you have to do it right after configuring your last install.

Shweeet! The Mushkin Man! lol! They suck because they turned memtest into a red waterfall. Sig's been updated with rig specs...

You can call into our tech guys and we can help you with that. All the Basic parts are mosel die chips and we have had great results with them. The number is 800-569-1868.

Thanks, but I'm not really interested in ram with errors in memtest. The new sticks from Patriot were actually 10 bucks less, have pretty heat spreaders, and timings of 2-3-2-5. They ran through memtest like a champ last night.

Unfortunately, I'm having mad issues oc in windows. To the tune of BSOD startups. Anytime I try to test for max HTT, my monitor loses signal in windows. Upon restart, I'm greeted with a pretty unmountable or registry error.

Been awhile with an AMD rig, but HTT's not that touchy, is it?

What 2gb budget is good these days, there is mixed message for each memory out there. All I hear about G.SKill is good but they are sold out as of today. OCZ platinum is okay, not good for overclocking not the rev 2 (can't afford that). Sounds solid but lacks the performance? the Mushkin HP same scenario as the OCZ. What should I do ? should I buy something now or just wait for a new batch of G.Skill from newegg: by then the price will be inflated by many tens of dollars...

The trend on ram has been lower prices, so I would wait.

It seems to me, you save 20~30 bucks a gig for going budget. IMO, that's just not enough... Unless of course you like to run stock.

But why would anyone here wanna do that?

The GSkill that was recently selling for $199 is DDR 500 so stock would be fine.

the gskill are unbeatable pricewise and is performance ram, I havnt been as happy with the price/performance of ram since my 1 gig kit of OCZ's did 300mhz !
