I am setting up a seemingly simple network. The internet connection comes in on the cable line, then goes to the router, then from the rounter to one wired computer and one wireless. The wired computer works fine, but the wireless doesn't work. The router is the SMC Barricade wireless and the nic is the Netgear MA301 and MA 401. The status the nic gives me is that I have a connection and the signal strength is good, but I can't see the other computer, can't access the router, and no internet. I checked all the settings and my SSID, channel, network mode/type, and wep security are all correct. The router even shows there is a wireless nic connecting to it, but still no network. The only fishy thing is when I try to run winipcfg, it comes up with a fatal error because it can't read ip configuration, but everything is setup right. Can anyone help me?
