View Full Version : BF2 1.12 patch problems
Hey all. I decided to update the patch on my BF2 even though I have not been playing much and I have run into a problem. I downloaded the patch and when trying to install it I get an error telling me the install folder cannot be located. Anyone experience this and find a fix?

Try reinstalling the whole thing.
I'm trying to avoid that but I guess I may have too.

Yeah I had that problem with 1.03, tried redownloading the patch, restarting computer, redownload, different sources, everything, and none worked. Gave up and reinstalled, game and all patches. Then it worked....
Looks like a reinstall for you....

How about this one.
I install the newest patch, and the dumbass screen pops up in the game, telling me I need to instal the newest patch.
I close the game, reboot even, does the same thing.
Reinstall the patch, reboot again for the heck of it, and re-run the game.
THE MESSAGE WILL NOT GO AWAY!?!?!??!??!
Anyone else with this problem?

reinstall the game? I highly hate bf2 for its instablility...
Actually I don't mind reinstalling the game if I know it will fix the problem. Does anyone know if I need to install all of the previous patches on the fresh install or just the latest? Thanks for all the help.

eh, if it requires that, I'll live with the stupid little message. :p
My bud had issues with the previous patch, and after patching, the game wouldn't even run. Uninstalled, reinstalled, still won't run the game. he had to go into the reg n find every little nook n cranny that EA puts its files and delete em all, just to get the game running again.
No thanks lol. :bang head

um there are registry cleaner programs to do that for you :)
Great...now it wont uninstall. I can't believe this. Up until now I have had none of the commonly reported issues with this game. I had a gut feeling to buy Far Cry this weekend and now I'm glad I did. It will give me something to play while I sort this out.

Yes, install game, and then each patch at a time in order.
you only need to install the 1.12 patch. I read it somewhere that's it's an incremental patch. So it's BF2>SF>1.12 on a fresh install of the game. I did it that way and it works just fine.
you Do Not need to do BF2>1.02>1.03>BF2 SF>1.12

Everything gets screwed up if you do BF2>1.2>SF.
I had to reinstall.
