if it helps, i JUST installed mandrak 8.0 on my box.
here's the setup...
celery 500
POS motherboard
creative 8/4/32 rw
40x acer cd
pci 128 sound card
geforce2 mx
netgear 311
adaptech scsi adapter for scanner
15gig maxtor drive
POS monitor
anyway, it saw everything....i basically sat there and watched...as far as software, that's another story:)
I just recently attempted installing Mandrake 8.0 on a box with Win 2k. The installation seemed to be proceeding fine but came to a halt after it did finished the serial port detection. Quesion: Can I install it along win2k? According to the install guide it runs with 95, 98, and Me, but doesn't mention NT or 2k......
yea low it works. i had mandrake 8.0 and windows 2k as a dual boot. on the lilo loader or what ever the hell its called you just click on "nt" to go to windows.
You may find a lot of linux 'clones' for popular games
eg FreeCiv is like Civilisation
Also www.lokigames.com port a lot of your fav windows games to linux.
