Pump question

I just got a maxijet 1200 pump. It does 295 gph and well when i cut the cord to the pump so i could wire it to the psu and when i cut the cord it has 2 wires in there black and white. Which one is the power or the ground? I think its the white as the power and the black as the ground but i know nothing about this.

usually = almost always, might be different in mars....

strip the wire all the way down to where it plugs in to the wall. On the plug you have the metal the goes in to the wall the wire thats goes to the bigger of the two will be your ground.
